What's the difference between Taekwondo and Karate? Whenever someone is considering beginning martial arts classes, they often ask us, "How is taekwondo and karate different?" Or, "Which is better?" Taekwondo is a style which came from Korea and emphasizes kicking techniques while Karate is Japanese martial arts focused on hand strikes .  We offer the best methods and techniques of Taekwondo in our Academy located in Calgary!

Taekwondo and kick boxing

Kickboxing is a modern contact sport from the early 60s, a mix of western boxing with karate-type kicks above the waist only using safety pads (American style kickboxing) or with low kicks, without safety pads (European and Japanese style kickboxing). Tae-Kwon-Do is a Korean martial art with variations of kicks.
